16th Annual Salmon Homecoming Celebration

September 11-14, 2008, at The Seattle Aquarium and Waterfront Park, Downtown Seattle Waterfront

WHAT: Thursday, 9/11. The Salmon Homecoming Forum will provide an opportunity for people of all ethnic backgrounds and vocations to comprise a collaborative statement calling for more and better action to protect our common environment. The evening reception will provide an opportunity also to commemorate 9/11 in a way that connects interracial brotherhood with the bold new commitment to be better stewards and take care of our Mother Earth who sustains us all.

Friday-Sunday , 9/12-14. Multi ethnic celebrations, as well as the usual Native American celebrations, reach out to the public to include one and all in the inter-racial, stewardship-based commitments that breathe new life into all communities. Celebrate of the Salmon at the 2008 Salmon Homecoming Celebration integrates culture, environmental awareness, fun and “bridge-building” to increase awareness of the importance of salmon in our lives.  American Indian music & dancing, a pow wow, environmental booths, Environmental Career Fair, arts & craft vendors, and a Salmon Barbeque are all part of the three-day event. 

WHEN:  Thursday, the Salmon Homecoming Forum commences at 9 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. The Salmon Homecoming Reception commences at 7 p.m. and concludes with the showing of the hit docu-drama, “Shadow of the Salmon” at 9 p.m.

Friday through Sunday, September 12-14, 2008.  School Day activities begin at 9:30am on Friday.  Friday’s activities end at 6pm.  Saturday, 10am - 10pm; Sunday, 10am – 6pm.  (Times are approximate).

COST:  The Forum: $50 per participant. The Celebration: Free admission.  Everyone is welcome!
